Online Collections - Arizona Memory Project

The archives of the Arizona Jewish Historical Society contain over 50,000 unique photographs, documents, artifacts and other memorabilia.  In addition we have conducted over 250 oral history and 100 video history interviews with local Jewish residents.  A sampling of our collections is available online through the Arizona Memory Project.

Please visit our three Online Collections at the Arizona Memory Project

  • Phoenix Jewish News Collection: This collection consists of photographs donated by the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix donated in 2007.  The collection contains over 15,000 photographs, of which some 200-300 are digitized. They run from 1948 to 2007.  Special thanks to the Jewish Community Foundation for sponsoring our project to archive and upload these photos.

  • Video Histories of Arizona Jewish Residents: In 2008, the AZJHS received a grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix to conduct video interviews with local Valley residents and Jewish community members.  Approximately 50 of these interviews are now available online.  Special thanks to the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix, as well as the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix and the Arizona Historical Records Advisory Board for supporting this project.

  • Arizona Jewish Life: This collection consists of miscellaneous photographs from our archives that was scanned and uploaded to the Arizona Memory project in 2012-2013.  Special thanks to the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix and the Arizona Historical Records Advisory Board for supporting this project.
